Plainly, from the people making it
About This Prototype
Ithreth is a world in development: a place that cannot hold a complete memory of itself. This site lets you into it the only way the world allows, through papers written by people inside it. Nothing here is explained from above. Each line carries a mark for how its writer knows what it says: -va seen, -se told, -mun held on record, -eth guessed.
The game on the Lantern Rows is a short text game of Keeping. You play one Keeper's working life, from a First Hold to the day the cord is set down, and then the apprentice who takes it up. Nothing below can hurt you. Everything below costs something.
What this is
A prototype. Every word is a first draft, and none of it is canon yet. In the game, years after 641 SFR are play-time: they belong to the game, not to the setting.
What it keeps
- No cookies, no analytics, and no fonts, scripts or images from anywhere else.
- The game saves your Keeper, your line and your settings in this browser's local storage. The site keeps two things in the same place: which papers you have read, and the light you chose.
- To forget it all, use "Forgetting on purpose" in the game's settings, or clear this site's data in your browser.
How to read it
Start with the bundle. The papers can be read in any order; the primer explains the marks. The light at the top of every page (Auto, Paper, Lamp) is shared with the game.
Keys, in the game
1 to 9 choose. C opens your cord. Escape closes a sheet.
